A Trade Association That Gives Back
Sometimes, the difference between success and failure is a helping hand – an extraordinary friend, a talented mentor, an encouraging community. It’s this understanding that motivates the charitable arm of AGC, Akron Division. It’s our opportunity to give back.
We’ve built a community within a community by giving general contractors a place to come together and benefit from our educational and safety resources, representation, networking opportunities and more. We’ve also reached outside our community and worked hard to benefit the greater good.
Charitable Projects
We’re proud to have contributed over $220,000 in donations since 2002 to various programs and causes in our area, including Project Summit. We’ve also enjoyed donating our personal time to countless charitable projects. Whether it’s personally working with an organization such as Clearview HOPE or helping veterans and first responders with disabilities by remodeling their homes, the ability to positively impact others with our time and service makes our work all the more fulfilling.
Scholarships
As an association focused on continuing education, AGC, Akron Division, has developed a tradition of providing scholastic aid to hard-working students at Kent State University and The University of Akron. To date, we’ve awarded over $110,000 in annual scholarships to Northeast Ohio students pursuing studies in the construction industry.
We feel these efforts support the future of our members and partner organizations. By providing the right resources and opportunities, we’re optimistic we’re not only molding educated and well-rounded contractors, but individuals that can impact their communities in a variety of positive ways.
